Local 1805 was
created and became affiliated with the International Association of Fire
Fighters (IAFF) on October 22, 1968. When formed, Local 1805 represented 9
members of four separate departments, Fire District
3, Fire District 4, Fire
District 5 and Fire District 6. During the late seventies, three of the four
departments bifurcated and Local 1805 was comprised of members from Fire
District 3 and 6. During the year of 2001 Fire District 3 bifurcated and
Local 1805 became the exclusive bargaining unit of Fire District 6. Currently,
the Local represents 45 members.
Since its inception
Local 1805’s primary mission, as is the mission of all union locals, has been
to protect the safety of its membership while working to advance the standard of
living for our fire fighters and their families.
The Local is
governed by a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Negotiations
Chair, Safety Officer and three Shop Stewards.
In addition, our Local takes an active part in the Washington State
Council of Fire Fighters (WSCFF) and the Central Labor Council (CLC).
We continually put
the needs of our citizens at the top of our priority list. Recently, our members
